Mixed Team Relay
Relay teams comprised of two men and two women will compete on a super sprint triathlon course. Each team member will complete the entire super sprint triathlon (swim, bike and run) before tagging the next person to start. All relays will be in the order female, male, female, male. The team time starts with the gun when the first female member begins the swim and ends when the last team mate crosses the finish line.
“The events are open to first-time triathletes and seasoned veterans alike, and teams may be a mix of youth and adult athletes. The mixed team relay format fosters teamwork and camaraderie while exposing athletes of all ages to the multisport lifestyle in a fun, safe environment.” – USA Triathlon
At Best in the West Tri Fest, we also offer relay teams for each tri distance where one person completes the swim, one completes the bike and one completes the run. If you would like to do a 2 or 3 person relay, you can sign up for that under sprint, Olympic or Half Iron distance. The mixed team relay is specific to 4 super sprint triathlons completed by 2 females and 2 males on each team.

About the Course
The swim starts from the beach, and is a 250m loop. The bike is an out and back on North River Road and is almost entirely flat. The run is one loop around Lewis creek park through the upper parking lot which includes one hill. The tag zone is at the end of the pedestrian bridge near the lake. Once an athlete has competed the swim, bike and run portion of the super sprint, they will tag the next racer to begin their super sprint tri.
