About the Course

This race is a chance for athletes of all skill levels to compete on a scenic lake and riverside course, perfect for the novice through the seasoned triathlete. This course includes a one loop swim where the lake bed is in view for most of your swim and the water is an inviting temperature usually around 72 degrees fahrenheit. Wet suits are optional up to a water temperature of 78 degrees fahrenheit. The bike is an out and back that features country roads that twist and turn with the river through the backroads of Sweet Home, Oregon. The sprint course has only one hill to conquer on the bike at mile 9.5 where you will climb a short hill of 150ft over 3/4 of a mile with most of the climb in the first little bit. The hill is the accent from river level to the top of the dam when returning to foster reservoir and goes by quickly. The rest of the bike is flat and fast. The run is a one loop, single out and back course where you will have a chance to pass fellow athletes for high-fives and a peak at where your competition stands. Athletes will head out through the park trails onto the road where they will run gentle rolling hills with protection from the summer sun by the giant trees lining the course. Athletes will turn around just after the bridge crossing and run back to the park and will be welcomed by the festival and cheering crowds at the finish!

Aid stations will be available at the exit of transition and at mile 1 and 2 on the run course. There will not be an aid station on the bike course for this race. Aid stations will include restrooms, water, hammer nutrition products (Hammer gel and Heed sports drink).
