Mixed Team Relay teams are comprised of 4 racers. The divisions include coed (must be 2 males, 2 females), all female, and all male. Each team member will complete an entire super short triathlon (swim, bike and run) before tagging the next person to start. All coed relays will be in the order female, male, female, male. The team time starts with the gun when the first female member begins the swim and ends when the last team mate crosses the finish line.
“The events are open to first-time triathletes and seasoned veterans alike, and teams may be a mix of youth and adult athletes. The mixed team relay format fosters teamwork and camaraderie while exposing athletes of all ages to the multisport lifestyle in a fun, safe environment.” – USA Triathlon
At Best in the West Tri Fest, we also offer relay teams for each tri distance where one person completes the swim, one completes the bike and one completes the run. If you would like to do a 2 or 3 person relay, you can sign up for that under Sprint, Olympic or Half-Iron distance.
