We need you!
Did you know this race requires over 300 volunteer shifts?!
Volunteers make the race world go round. With out you, we can't do what we do. Our racers always tell us we have the BEST volunteers! We encourage you to pick up a shift or two on race weekend. We try to keep shifts short and shower you in gifts and gratitude. No experience necessary any and all are welcome to join, even the kids! Volunteer position descriptions are below the camping information. |

We think racers make the best volunteers because you know what you need! Many of our racers volunteer one day and race the next. It's a great community to be a part of. We know you'll enjoy giving back to the sport you love and will feel great about supporting your fellow athletes.

You pick your exact shift and location when you sign up.
For each 2+ hour shift, we treat volunteers to all the goodies! We have group fundraising available for groups of 10+. If you know of a team, group, organization looking for some fundraising, please send them our way! |
Camping is free to registered volunteers only. You may take multiple shifts to cover additional campers, or have them sign up to work with you.
The park is kind enough to allow us to camp even though it is normal a day use only park. Lewis Creek Park is the location of the race, head quarters and our volunteer camping. There are two main areas for camping.
TENTS: The tent camping is located across the pedestrian bridge on the east side of the park. The run course goes right through the middle of camp. Tent camping is walk in only. We are not allowed to park cars in the tent camping area. We have a gear drop off zone and carts/wheel barrows for you to move things easily from your car to your location. Spots are on a first come basis, but we have plenty of room for everyone and if needed, you can save a spot for your friends right next to your camp. There are restrooms with water at the camping area. We provide charging stations both at the camping area and the volunteer check in area. Showers will be available at Lewis Creek Park for volunteers only.
RV: The RV camping area is located on the far west side of the park. Motorhomes, trailers, vans and other wheeled camping set ups get lined up in the grass on that end of the park. If you don't need grass, you are also welcome to park in the upper parking lot closer to the tent campers. Tents are allowed with the RVs, but need to be close to your rig. There are no hook ups, so make sure your tanks are full and batteries are charged. There are restrooms at Lewis Creek Park, but the showers are at Sunnyside. They are free for your use during Tri Fest weekend. We have not completely filled our RV spots just yet, but it is starting to get tight. Please sign up early for volunteering so we can plan our space and make sure we have ample overflow for RVs if it gets to that point.

Our racers love and appreciate volunteers as much as we do. Check out some of the thanks from last year.
Memer E Thank you for taking the time to add details to the race that make it so awesome- from our names in transition to a rack for our bikes while being body marked - it is such an impressive amount of work and total pampering for those of us racing.
Tori B I didn’t compete, but I was so thankful for the parking lot volunteers for directing traffic so smoothly and keeping things moving! I did not have to wait in line to park because they kept things flowing. That was such a nice way to start the day at 6am! And the food volunteers outdid themselves. Again. Way to keep up with the high volume of hungry racers, spectators, and volunteers. Everything was delicious, and the zucchini was exceptionally amazing. Thank you for keeping all those people from getting hangry. 😊 Karina B The CHS Robotic team students were amazing at the aid station during the sprint run. Their music, humor and general positive energy & enthusiasm kept me going! Jill P Such a wonderful event. We Love to participate with such amazing people.
