Best in the West Triathlon Festival is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. The term “sanctioned” refers to the compliance of a multi-sport event to USA Triathlon’s safety requirements. Safety plans, course maps, and event details must be submitted for review by experienced USA Triathlon staff. This ensures events are safe and fair competition environments.
What is an annual membership?
An annual membership allows an athlete to compete in USA Triathlon sanctioned races while receiving many benefits which include: a subscription to the quarterly USA Triathlon publication, inclusion in the USA Triathlon national ranking system (after competing in at least three USAT sanctioned triathlon events or two duathlon, aquathlon or off-road triathlon events), discounts from USA Triathlon sponsors, as well as eligibility to qualify for Team USA member and compete at ITU World Championship events. An annual membership also includes unlimited one-day licenses for races occurring within the membership period.
What is a one-day license?
A one-day license allows an athlete to compete in a USA Triathlon sanctioned race without purchasing an annual membership. One-day licenses are purchased for a specific race, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable.
Why do I have to purchase a one-day license or annual membership for my event?
When a race director sanctions with USA Triathlon, it is required for each participant to purchase either a one-day license or hold an annual membership in order to participate in said event.
How can I purchase a membership or one-day license?
During registration, you will be given the option to purchase or renew an annual membership, or you can purchase a one-day USAT membership. A single one-day membership covers you for the entire weekend.
If you already have an annual membership, please have your membership number available. You can find your membership number on USAT’s website.
