I've been racing triathlon for 8 years, and never in that time have I seen any venue put together with such care and attention to detail~! I was so impressed with your opening "If this is your first open water swim" directions! So important for first timers! Thank you!! I loved the wave starts; they were perfectly timed! I could go on for days about my observations. From the flexibility of exchanging my shirt BEFORE the race, to the "reserved parking for my bike" to the well marked course, amazing volunteers, to all of the enthusiasm at your run aid stations! Your finish line greeter, who handed me a tall mug of ice water, and that beautiful wet bandanna! After 70.3 miles, I was ready for it! :) We left your race site so impressed! We will be back for sure because you made the trip from Kitsap County, worth it!! - Windy T

We are back in Hawaii now, and I wanted to thank you again for a wonderful, well-coordinated race.  It was a great beginning to our Oregon trip, and Margie and I still talk about it frequently, particularly when she wears her yellow "volunteer" shirt.  I might have mentioned to you that my primary reason for doing this race was not to see how well I could perform but simply to do a fun race that would enable us to see a part of Oregon we had never seen and also to make new friends.  Thanks to you, we succeeded on both counts. Anyway, I would like to help spread the good word about your race, but I was wondering if you have any idea of where I could do that.  If you were a store, I would use Yelp, but I'm not sure where I should go to mention a race.  And, believe me, everything I say will be extremely positive!  I can't think of anything bad about your race. - Jim M

To all of the staff at Best in the West- I wanted to forward you a copy of a race report from my friend Tracie, who became a triathlete thanks to your Try a Tri. You put in so much hard work to make the whole weekend a success, I felt moved to share this story with you, so you can feel the positive impact you have on peoples lives. Quick background on Tracie: For the last 4 years, she has been our ultimate “team mom”. She makes us protein packed breakfast muffins, she made homemade chicken soup for everybody racing IM Canada so they’d have something to eat after the race, she takes pictures at all of our races, and one year she even drove a van full of 7 bikes down to IMAZ to save the racers time and money rather than having to use Tribike transport. Needless to say, the Seattle Green Lake Tri Group loves her! Thank you for providing her with the supportive event where she could spread her wings and become a triathlete! - Maddie M

We did the Best in the West Triathlon for the first time this year and had a great time. It was by far THE BEST triathlon race we've done all year. That's saying a lot because we did 7 triathlons, including the Honolulu Triathlon and Ironman 70.3 Couer d'Alene! We definitely want to do it again! The volunteers, course and event coordinators are AWESOME! - Noland H
